Maximizing Your Facial Investment
A professional salon facial infuses moisture, clarifies congested pores, and promotes microcirculation. However, how you care for your skin in the 48 hours following your appointment determines how long that luminous glow will last.
1. Skip Heavy Makeup for 24 Hours
Your pores are cleansed and receptive after extraction and steaming. Applying heavy foundations, compact powders, or setting sprays immediately can clog open pores and cause irritation. Let your skin breathe naturally.
2. Say No to Hot Showers & Saunas
Excessive steam and scorching water can strip the soothing essential oils and serums massaged into your dermis. Stick to lukewarm or cool water when washing your face.
3. Be Gentle — No Exfoliants for 5 Days
Since your therapist already performed professional exfoliation during the facial, stay away from physical scrubs, AHA/BHA toners, and retinol for at least 4 to 5 days to avoid barrier irritation.
4. Sunscreen is Non-Negotiable
Freshly exfoliated skin is particularly sensitive to UV rays. Always apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen before stepping outdoors, even on cloudy days.
5. Drink Plenty of Water
Hydration begins from within. Complement your facial's external moisture boost with 8 to 10 glasses of water to keep skin cells plump and flushed of toxins.
